In Frank's Words
- “...it has some absolute staples of my live set to this day – The Road, Try This At Home, Dan's Song – so it's a mixed bag for me.”
— Louder: Every Frank Turner album in his own words, 2017 - “It's a song about traveling and staying on the move. I guess I was kind of careful to make sure it wasn't that much about touring with the music, partly because I think it's tedious when bands constantly write songs about being in bands, also…”
— Songfacts: The Road - “I am admitting right here, right now in front of you all that I nicked the title for this one from the Levellers. It's called The Road, enjoy!”
